Inverlea Park Shoreline Revegetation (Fall 2022)

In summer 2022 a large swath of shoreline along the Odoonabii River in Peterborough was accidentally mowed, removing native plants, and pollinators from the shoreline. On October 1st we will be in the park to replace the lost vegetation along the river along with the help of local residents and students.

Jackson Park Invasive Species Replacement (Spring 2022)

In the spring of 2022 we were provided with our first grant from the Ontario Invasive Species Center to remove European Buckthorn along the banks of Jackson Creek. Over several days, a large quantity of invasive blackthorn was removed using an extractigator, and replaced with native vegetation. A big thanks to all of the volunteers that made this event possible! The plants will be monitored for several years to ensure that they are successfully established, and buckthorn does not reestablish itself.
